education and experience
Dr. Shleyfer earned her Bachelor of Science in biology from the Loyola University of Chicago, graduating with honors. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she graduated summa cum laude. She has been practicing in the Chicagoland area for 19 years and joined Big City Optical in 2021.

Dr. Shleyfer loves getting to know patients and working with the wider community in Chicago, especially equipped with all the technology at Big City Optical. Dr. Shleyfer grew up in Chicago and is a fluent Russian speaker as she is originally from Ukraine. When she’s not working with patients, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
