Opens 16th Store In Five Years
CHICAGO, IL (October 26, 2022) – BIG CITY OPTICAL recently opened another store in the Chicago area. Located in Streeterville, this new store is the company’s 16th in five years and its third this year. The brand also opened a store in Lincoln Square (4625 N. Lincoln Ave.) and Lincoln Park (2743 N. Clark) earlier this year.
“Since launching our first store in Pilsen in 2017, BIG CITY OPTICAL has seen tremendous growth,” Company Co-Owner Michael Kogelis said. “We’re so excited to bring BIG CITY OPTICAL to the Streeterville neighborhood!”
Streeterville Store Manager Ty Bell has already witnessed tremendous customer enthusiasm for BIG CITY OPTICAL’s newest location.
“It’s fun to work alongside clients as they consider our wide-range of quality eyewear brands, including our own M. alexander brand,” Bell said. “It’s been fun to meet so many new and existing BIG CITY OPTICAL clients who are excited about our new location.”
With additional stores in Andersonville, the Loop, River North, West Loop, the North Shore, and elsewhere in Chicago, adding a Streeterville store diversifies the company’s locations.

The BIG CITY OPTICAL Streeterville location is located at 227 E. Ontario St. in Chicago. The store is open from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m on Friday and Saturday.
